How to become a UCSF Police employee
(non-sworn, non-dispatcher)
- Review the job standards of the position for which you are applying on the UCSF Human Resources website or in the job posting.
- Apply to the job posting in UCSF Brass Ring with a cover letter and resume.
- Submit a completed UCSF Police Department Employment Application.
- Qualified applicants will be scheduled for an oral board interview conducted by at least two members of the UCSF Police staff. Some recruitment processes may involve additional round of interviews.
- Selected candidate(s) will be fingerprinted and asked to sign a waiver authorizing a background investigation.
- Candidates passing the background investigation will be sent a conditional offer of employment, to be signed and returned to the Professional Standards Division (PSD).
- When a signed conditional offer of employment is received by the PSD, the candidate is hired.
Additional candidate information
- Candidates who are not passed at any point in the recruitment process will be notified in writing and may reapply after six months.
