UCSF PD will issue a Crime Alert (Timely Warning), if deemed necessary, in the event of a Clery Act crime that poses an ongoing or serious threat to members of the University community, which occurs on Clery Act geography. (UCSF PD may also issue a similar bulletin for a non-Clery Act crime or a crime that occurs outside of Clery Act geography.)
All incidents are considered on a case-by-case basis, depending on the facts of the case. The purpose of a Crime Alert (Timely Warning) is to provide relevant information to the community in a timely manner that withholds the names of victims as confidential and aids in the prevention of similar occurrences.
Safety Bulletins and WarnMe messages may be issued separately, especially for incidents involving imminent threats to life safety.
The repository below includes Crime Alerts issued in the last calendar year. The UCSF Police Department retains earlier Crime Alerts for the statutory period required under the Clery Act.
